The Colorado state flag has 3 horizontal stripes of equal with. The top and bottom strips are blue, and the middle stripe is white. A circular red “C” sits on top the stripes, filled with a golden disk. The red “C” filled with gold represents the colors of the Spanish flag. The blue represents the sky and the gold pays tribute to the gold rush in the late 1800’s. Colorado’s snow-capped mountains are represented by the white, and the red represents the ruddy earth.
